Qur'anic Verse of the Day

"Put forward to them the example of two men. To one of them, We gave two gardens of grapes, and We surrounded them with date-palms, and had put between them fields of corn. Without fault, both of these gardens brought forth their produce, and We caused a river to flow between them.

The man had plenty of fruit, and during a discussion with his friend, he said: 'I am more than you in wealth, and I am more powerful among people.' He went into his garden with a mentality which was unjust to himself, and said: 'I don't think any of this will ever perish, and I don't think that the Final Hour will come. If I do happen to return to my Lord, I will find better things there for me.'

During this discussion, his friend said: 'How can you disbelieve in the One who has created you from a type of clay, and then from a secreted fluid, and then has shaped you into a man? As for me, I believe He is Allah – my Lord, and I will never associate partners with my Lord. When you entered into your garden, it would have been better for you to say: 'This is what Allah has willed! There is no power except with Allah!'

'If you see me less than you in wealth and children, it may be that my Lord will give me something better than your garden, and may send on your one thunderbolts from the sky, so in the morning, it will turn into a barren slippery land. And the water of your garden may become deeply sunken underground, so you will no longer be able to reach it.'

One day, all his fruit were indeed ruined, and he was left turning his hands in grief over all that he had spent on it, but it was now all destroyed into pieces. He then exclaimed: 'Oh if only I had not associated partners with my Lord!'

There was nobody who could help him other than Allah, nor could he help himself.
"

"Ramadan is the month in which the Qur'an was sent down, a Guidance for mankind, and a clarification of the Guidance and the Criterion between right and wrong. Those of you who witness it should fast during this month, but those who are ill or on a journey should fast from other days to complete the number. Allah wants to make it easy for you, and He does not want hardship on you, that you may complete the number of days and glorify Allah for having guided you, and that you may become grateful." – (2:185)

"Oh you who believe! Fasting has been prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may become righteous; prescribed for a certain number of days, but if anyone of you is ill or on a journey, then the same number from other days. As for those who find this very difficult, they can feed a poor person instead. Whoever does good of their own accord, that is better for them, and fasting is better for you, if only you knew." – (2:183-184)

"Yet they worship beside Allah that which He has not sent down any authority for, and which they have no knowledge of: the evildoers will not have anyone to help them.

When our Clear Revelations are recited to them, you will see the disbelievers' faces becoming hostile. It is as if though they are about to strike down those who recite to them Our Revelations. Say, 'shall I tell you of that which is worse than that? ...The Fire promised by Allah to those who disbelieve, a wretched end!

Mankind, here is an illustration, so listen carefully: those you call on beside Allah could not, even if they combined all their forces, create a fly, and if a fly took something away from them, they would not be able to retrieve it. How feeble is the seeker and the sought! They do not measure Allah with His true measure! - Allah is Most Strong and Mighty." - (22:71-74)

"Whoever submits wholly to Allah and does good work will have grasped the surest handhold, the outcome of everything is with Allah.

As for those who refuse to do this, do not let their refusal sadden you, they will return to us and We will tell them of all that they have done. Allah knows all that hearts contain.

We let them enjoy themselves for a little while, then we drive them to a harsh torment.

If you ask them, 'who created the heavens and the earth?', they are sure to say 'Allah.' Say, 'praise be to Allah', but most of them do not understand this - everything in the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah. Allah is Self-Sufficient and Worthy of all Praise.

If All the trees on earth were pens and all the seas, with seven more seas besides [were ink], Allah's words would still not run out! Allah is Almighty, All-Wise." - (31:22-27)

"Oh Allah, owner of the kingdom, you give the kingdom to whoever you will, and you take the kingdom away from whoever you will, you honour whoever you will, and you disgrace whoever you will. In your hand lies all good. indeed, you have power over all things. You make the night enter into day, and the day enter into night. You bring the living out of the dead, and the dead out of the living. You provide endlessly for whoever you will." - (3:26-27)

"Shall we treat those who submit the same as those who are criminals?

What is wrong with you? How do you make your judgements? Do you have another Book which you look into? In which you find whatever you wish to find? Have you taken a pledge from Us up until the Day of Judgement that you will get your way in the judgements you make?" - 68:35-39

I found the following ayah very intense and out reaching, so i made a note if it a long time back. I've also included the commentary that was in the english quran.

"The truth (comes) from they Lord alone; so be not of those who doubt"

Surah Al Imran:Ayah 60

"The truth does not neccessarily come from priest or from the superstitions of whole people. it comes from Allah and where there is a direct revelation, there is no room for doubt."(commentary)

"Our Lord! We have indeed heard the call of a caller inviting us to faith, saying, 'Believe in your Lord', so we have believed. Our Lord, forgive us for our wrongdoings, and remove from us our sins, and make us die with those who are righteous." - (3:193)

"There are some people who serve Allah on the edge of true faith. When good things befall them they are happy. But when they are tested they return to their (evil) ways losing both this world and the Hereafter. That is a loss for all to see!"

Instead of Allah, they call upon those that can neither help them nor harm them - that is far misguidance! They call upon one whose harm is closer than his help: an evil master and an evil companion.

But Allah will enter those who believe and do good deeds into Gardens graced with flowing streams - Allah does whatever He wills." - 22:11-14

"Those who say, 'Our Lord is Allah', then continue in the straight way, the angels descend upon them, (saying), 'Do not fear and do not be sad, you have the good news of Paradise which you have been promised'. We are your guardians in this world and the Hereafter, wherein you will have whatever your souls desire, whatever you ask for: a gift of welcome from the Most-Forgiving One, the Ever-Merciful One!

Who is better in speech than the one who calls to Allah and behaves righteously, and says: I am one of those who submit (to Allah)?

That which is good and that which is evil are not the same, repel with that which is better. It may be that he with whom you have enmity will become as if he were a close friend. However, this pattern of behaviour is only found in those who are patient, those who have great good fortune.

If the Satan prompts you to an evil thought, then seek refuge in Allah - He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing!

Among His signs are the night, the day, the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun, nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if it is Him that you worship. Though some are too proud to do this, know that those who are with your Lord glorify Him by night and day, and they do not get fed up of doing so." - 41:30-28

"Oh you who believe! Stand up for justice, and testify to Allah, even if it is against yourselves, your parents, or your relatives. Whether they are rich or are poor, Allah is more worthy than them." - (4:135)

If God had willed, He would have made you one nation, but He lets anyone He wishes go astray, and guides anyone He wishes. And you will surely be questioned about whatever you do. (16:93)

Every man's destiny we have tied to his neck. And we shall bring forth for him, on the Day of Resurrection, a book he shall find spread wide open. 'Read your book! sufficient are you today to take your own account.' (17:13-14)
