Hospitalized

Masalams to everyone,

I just recently been released from the hospital yesterday due to an asthma attack. I was in the hospital for at least almost 5 days. To avoid going back to the hospital, I just want to ask if anyone have any suggestions to avoid asthma attacks. I would be most grateful.

salam,

Sorry to hear about your asthma-attack. I found the following advice on a Health website:

Quote:
The risk of an attack is reduced by not smoking and avoiding identified asthma triggers, such as house dust mite droppings, pet hairs, smog and stress, as much as possible. Coughs and colds also trigger asthma symptoms.

People with asthma shouldn't avoid exercise.

Wa alaikum salam Sister

I dont have any suggetions to avoid astma attacks. But i want you to read this hadith, cant remember it exactly:

Once a woman came to the Prophet (pbuh), and asked him if he could make Dua to Allah, So Allah could cure her illness - she had epilepsy, when she fell down on the floor her body began to shake, and with that her awra (the private parts) could be seen - and cursed the disease. The prophet (pbuh) told her not to curse the disease and told her that she should rather thank Allah, because when someone is ill there sins will be deleted. she said "then only make dua for that my awra cant be seen by others, And the prophet did that.

Im sorry for that i dont have any advices, but that was all what i had to say. Sister may Allah make your illness esaiere to handle.

asthma advice

hi,

i read ur post bout ur asthma attacks...
the only advice i can give u is not to do too much excersize and have plenty of water. A boy in my class got an asthma attack coz he was crying about sumin and it caused an asthma attack so try not to get too upset about sumin...

I hope your asthma doesn't get too serious...
Another thing u could do is to check out websites relating to your problem...They can give a lot of really good advice...

I am sorry to hear of your asthma. The doctor from the hospital should have given you advise on what may trigger your asthma. Lot of the time, the cold can trigger asthma or doing physical excercise. Other times it may be dust, or it could be pollution in the air which can change day to day. You might also be allergic to certain foods which can trigger asthma. Sometimes, (strangely) a bad caugh can make you feel asthmetic.

I would say just be cautious of the onset of asthma and learn when your body is telling you you're beginning to feel asthmatic. Then learn what to do next time to avoid asthma. If you have been given a reliever inhaler, use that as you have been shown when you are feeling wheezy.

Anyway, bear in mind that Allah gives you this illness to show you that this world is made imperfect so that you could strive for the Hereater.

Take care of your self.

Its a dua tht if u say it 3 times in the morning after fajr nammaz then, with the right precautions, you will be protected frm any harm frm anything until Isha, and if u read it 3 times after isha namaaz thn it will be the same for the night until fajr again....

here it is....

i'll do the best wiv spelling, bt just in case plz do look it up on the net...

bismillah hilazi la yoo ziru ma as me he shai on filarzi wa la fisamah e wahu as sam ee al amin...

just say tht 3 times after fajr and after isha...
i did try my best wiv the spelling, bt look it up...

i have asthma too and this might help you to avoid asthma attack:
1)no cold drinks,soda and strong sour foods/fruits/drinks
2)clean your room everyday (dust triggers asthma)
3)stop sports when u feel tight chest or short breath
4)sleep with your blanket (reduce the speed of your fan because cold air put pressure on your chest and you will have cough that leads to asthma)
5)only use your ventolin pump inhaler at the early stage that you feel breathing problem
(the pump won't work during asthma attack due to chronic short breath...it won't reach deep inside to cure)
6)avoid smokers
7)don't lost your temper (take deep breath and calm your emotions slowly)

i hope it will help you out...
my asthma attack reduced when i always take attention my muslim doctor's advise.
